
Following the success of her online classes, Celine Byford, a wellness coach from the United Kingdom, is now hosting in-person events. Seeing firsthand the power of Celine’s teachings, it’s no surprise she’s now expanding her offerings to include live coaching-and-healing sessions. This interview delves into her motivations for this expansion, exploring the unique dynamic she hopes to cultivate within these intimate gatherings. How did you begin your self-development and wellness journey?
I came to a halt during the COVID-19 lockdown, realising that when everything became silent, my thoughts grew super loud. I had dabbled in meditation using the Headspace app during my university years, but I decided it was time to finally tackle the anxiety that gripped me. I spent a long time negatively criticising everything about myself, from the way I looked to how nervous I was in social situations.
In a huge way, that lockdown changed my life. I started to meditate every day for just 10 minutes, journaled my thoughts, focused on true self-love (that wasn’t just baths!) and started practising talking to myself in ways that felt liberating. I noticed something lifting, and five years on, I’m a completely different person.
What’s the underlying message you aim to convey to your audience?
I really want to teach young women that our anxiety doesn’t have to consume us. Sure, it’s a part of the human experience that can be incredibly gripping and difficult, but it is separate from us. We can navigate these tough feelings using proven tools, such as allowing our bodies to tap into the fact that we are experiencing anxiety: we are not the feeling itself.
Is there anything in the works that you’re hoping to bring to your audience?
I’m working on a self-love in-person group coaching session here in the UK, which will focus on uncovering our shadow and embracing our true selves. For those further afield, I host an online workshop every Saturday morning at 10am, with replays available at any time.
You’re sharing your knowledge and energy with the community through in-person events. When and where are your live events taking place? And how do participants sign up?
Correct. What can participants of your upcoming live events expect to takeaway from joining you in person as opposed to just following you on Instagram @coachingwithcb?
There’s a certain level of spirituality that can be felt through energy, and this can only be done in real time. By hosting events online and in person, I can gain a sense of the energy everyone feels in that very moment, in order to cater to what I believe my clients truly need on a soul level. While there’s a lot to learn through my Instagram, these events allow me to connect with people on a higher realm of spirituality.
Can anyone join in on your courses or are there pre-requisites?
As a young woman myself, I only allow females between 18-40 onto my courses who I feel I can genuinely help. I invite them to be open-hearted and non-judgmental to the experience.
What’s your best advice for anyone who is unsure of starting their self-development journey?
The way I see it is, whether you take this journey to self-development or not, time will move. So in a year’s time, you’ll either have started your self-healing journey and see a difference in how you feel mentally, knowing you done everything you could to experience more joy and less anxiety, or you could stay where you are. It’s hard, but it’s so worth it when you get to the other side and start to experience moments of bliss.
