Fratelli Milano In Downtown Miami Gets a Fresh Facelift

After nearly two decades as a downtown Miami mainstay, Fratelli Milano is undergoing a significant transformation. The family-owned Italian restaurant, beloved for its hearty portions and classic Italian fare, is set to celebrate its eighteenth anniversary in December with a revamped space and menu.

Founded in 2006 by Milanese brothers Roberto and Emanuele Bearzi, Fratelli Milano quickly garnered a loyal following. The restaurant’s success is a testament to the brothers’ culinary expertise and the vision of their business partner, Fiorella Blanco. The trio aimed to create a welcoming environment where patrons could enjoy authentic Italian cuisine without breaking the bank.

What began as a small, 20-seat eatery has evolved into an 80-seat establishment with a popular patio. As downtown Miami’s culinary scene expanded, Fratelli Milano maintained its position as a go-to spot for business lunches and casual dinners.

The restaurant’s menu is a nostalgic homage to the brothers’ Italian heritage, featuring classic dishes like lasagna, gnocchi, and pappardelle. Signature items include the short rib ravioli with burrata and Bolognese sauce, and the Vitello alla Milanese, a breaded veal cutlet topped with fresh mozzarella and cherry tomatoes.

To stay competitive in Miami’s dynamic dining landscape, Fratelli Milano is closing its doors for a summer remodel. The renovation will introduce a new café, a stylish bar, and expanded indoor and outdoor seating. The menu will also undergo a refresh, incorporating healthier options like gluten-free pasta and a weekend brunch featuring fresh frittatas and pastries.

Despite these changes, the restaurant remains committed to its core values of hospitality and homemade Italian cuisine. The goal is to create an even more inviting atmosphere while preserving the warm, family-friendly charm that has made Fratelli Milano a downtown favorite.
